FutureTribe is committed to empowering visionary sustainability leaders, brandmanagers and ambitious organizations to build bold, purpose-led, and more sustainable brands by bridging the gap between sustainable innovation, brandbuilding, and communication. OUR HERITAGE AND COMMITMENT
The company was originally founded in 2018 as TrendTribe, but changed its name in August 2025 to mark a shift towards a more sustainable approach to the future of branding and marketing. The new name reflects our focus on helping companies avoid greenwashing by taking real strategic action and communicating with evidence rather than empty green claims. To live up to our commitment and promise of helping companies and brands navigate the green transition and turn sustainability into good business, our founder, Bettine Ortmann, spent two years completing a Master in Sustainable Leadership at DTU. This means we can now offer deep knowledge, experience and insight not only in brand and business development, but also in sustainable strategies and innovation tools.

OUR APPROACH
We lead the process from initial insights and resource optimization, navigating trends and impact ambitions, to embrace and engage partnerships and stakeholders, turning them into participants and dreamholders engaging for impact.

Our work is grounded in the Brand Value Circles toolkit, a comprehensive, sustainability-aligned framework created as a spin-off from our founder Bettine Ortmann’s Executive Master in Sustainable Leadership from DTU. The Brand Value Circles is an A-to-Z innovation process designed to support the development of "true Sustainable Brands" - brands that take sustainability beyond compliance, lead the way in the Circular Economy, and engage and activate their customers in the transition.

Reimagining Business and Brands within the Circular Economy is an​ upcoming book written by the founder of FutureTribe, Bettine Ortmann. It is both a guide to the Brand Value Circles toolkit and an invitation for businesses and brand leaders, sustainable innovation managers, and entrepreneurs to build true Sustainable Brands. Brands that takes business from talking to walking and transforming them into platforms for change. The book is written in continuation of Bettine's Master's Thesis:, with the title "How to develop a true Sustainable Brand". It is build on a solid foundation of theoretical knowledge brought into practice through real-life cases.

​The book’s ambition is to inspire organizations and brands that want to reinvent themselves within a sustainable business paradigm but need the right tools and inspiration to do so.
The Brand Value Circles provides a practical framework that connects sustainable innovation, business development, and brand building in one clear process model. The model can be used as a complete journey from A–Z or applied to selected areas where a brand can benefit from strengthening its focus. The Book will be launched Q1 2026.

DISCLAIMER: A true Sustainable Brand should be understood as genuine, in the sense of being truthful, i.e. not promising more than can be keept, while at the same time doing an effort to transform both business operations and customer expectations through rising the bar. Sustainability is relative. Some products, services or behaviours can be more sustainable than others, but to be absolutely sustainable, a company must not contribute to consuming more of the earth's resources than it can regenerate - and still it might not be 100% sufficient. Sustainability is more than the environment. The transformation to a Circular Economy as embraced by the definition, is just one step on the way. There are many more steps to be taken, of which we are far from knowing all yet or even which way to walk. But this only makes the path even more exciting.​​
